Think Pink: Supporting Breast Cancer Awareness
Here at Vie HQ, we try to practice what we preach to live a healthy and happy life. And that includes being aware about what our body might be trying to tell us in our busy, beautiful, and fit lives. Unfortunately, Breast Cancer is something that affects millions of women, many of whom are active and doing everything they can to stay healthy, but for one reason or another are still affected by this disease. As the daughter of a breast cancer survivor, I can say firsthand this is an unfair world and reasons beyond explanation sh*t happens to the ones we love most. But that doesn’t mean we have to surrender to this disease. In fact, the biggest thing I learned is that the cure starts with prevention.
We all know that monthly self breast exams should be a part of our routine, along with being more conscious about what we put in our body and on our skin. But have you really taken a look at the things in your life that could be cleaner? Here are a few great resources I live by:
-
Think Dirty App: this is one of the easiest ways to learn about the potentially toxic ingredients in your cosmetics and personal care products. Just scan the product barcode and the app will give you easy-to-understand info on the product, its ingredients, and shop cleaner options!
-
The Good Guide: They have searched more than 75,000 products across food, household, beauty and baby care to help you make smarter shopping decisions.
-
Skin Deep Database: This site has online profiles for cosmetics and personal care products and notes their potential hazards and health concerns.
